What comes across

Keep the data that matters to you.

Keep records connected

Keep deals linked to contacts and companies, and activities linked to their records in Zoho CRM.

Your custom fields come with you

We find your custom fields in Close CRM and plan how their values will travel to Zoho CRM before migrating their records.

Bring your activity history

Your activity history arrives on the record it belongs to. This page names which types transfer and any limit on them.

Match owners, pipelines and stages

We match them to your Zoho CRM users and stages.

Review changes before the run

The plan flags values that change during migration. The original value comes across beside the converted one.

Keep data with no matching field

Where possible, we create a field in Zoho CRM for data with no matching field.

Before you move

A Close lead is a company, and that is good news on the way out.

Close’s primary record is the lead, which is a company with its contacts, opportunities, tasks and activities hanging off it. Most CRMs are shaped the same way, so this direction is mostly a matter of putting each child under the right parent, and the parentage is what the assessment checks hardest.

Needs setup or a plan change

Custom fields per module are capped by your Zoho CRM edition

View detailsHide details

Zoho caps how many custom fields a module will hold, and the cap moves with your edition. A Close organization that has grown a lot of custom fields can exceed it.

We count yours in the free assessment and show you the number against your edition's limit.

Moves with changes

A migrated note is dated the day it lands

View detailsHide details

Zoho stamps a note with the moment it was created and accepts no date on the way in, so a note written in Close two years ago arrives dated today. The text and the record it belongs to both come across.

Verified against zoho.com

The text, the title and the record it belongs to all come across.

A contact's one name is split on the last space

View detailsHide details

Close keeps a single name on a contact where Zoho CRM keeps a first and a last, so we split on the last space. That is right for Mary Anne Evans and wrong for Ludwig van der Berg. Close stores one string, so the information needed to do better is not in it.

The free assessment shows you the names it affects before you pay.

Stays in the source CRM

Your attachments stay in Close CRM

View detailsHide details

Close does keep files. What it does not document is whether the URL it serves the bytes from can be fetched with an API credential rather than a browser session, and we will not carry bytes we have no confirmed way to read. It is on your plan before you pay rather than a surprise after the run.

FAQ

Questions about moving Close CRM to Zoho CRM

What happens to the company each record sat under?

It becomes accounts, and everything that hung off it in Close arrives under it here. Close's primary record is the lead, which is a company, and contacts, opportunities, tasks and activities are all children of one. That parentage is the thing this migration is most careful about, because it is the shape your data was actually in.

What are my opportunities called afterwards?

After the company they sat on. A Close opportunity has no title of its own, it is identified by its lead and shown by that company's name, so there is no deal name in Close for us to carry. Each one arrives named for its company, with its value, its stage, its owner and its close date intact.

Do my pipelines survive?

Your statuses are matched onto the funnel your Zoho already has, by what each one meant rather than by its name alone. Close records whether a status means won, lost or still open, so a deal you closed lands closed on the other side rather than needing anybody to re-mark it.

What happens to my email history?

It stays in Close. Zoho holds email as a related list hanging off each record rather than as a module we can write into, so there is nowhere in Zoho for your Close emails to land. Your calls, events, notes and tasks all come across, and this is on your plan before you commit.

Do I have to build a field map?

No. We work out what each value becomes, so nobody builds a field map. You review the plan before the migration runs. A Close custom field with no native home in Zoho can be brought along as a new one instead of being left behind.

Who actually runs the migration?

We run the migration and stay reachable. Connect Close for the free assessment and price, then Zoho to complete the plan. Nothing moves until you ask.

Can I keep working in Close while this happens?

Yes. We only read Close and never write back to it. Keep working while you check the results, then bring across the latest changes before switching over.

What if the result is not what I expected?

You can undo the migration, correct the issue and run again. Created fields, shared catalogue data and any other items listed as retained stay in place.

What does it cost?

One payment, based on the records that move. The free assessment of Close gives you the exact count and price before you commit. Payment is by invoice, with no subscription.
