What comes across

Keep the data that matters to you.

Keep records connected

Keep deals linked to contacts and companies, and activities linked to their records in Attio CRM.

Your custom fields come with you

We find your custom fields in Close CRM and plan how their values will travel to Attio CRM before migrating their records.

Bring your activity history

Your activity history arrives on the record it belongs to. This page names which types transfer and any limit on them.

Match owners, pipelines and stages

We match them to your Attio CRM users and stages.

Review changes before the run

The plan flags values that change during migration. The original value comes across beside the converted one.

Keep data with no matching field

Where possible, we create a field in Attio CRM for data with no matching field.

Before you move

A Close lead is a company, and that is good news on the way out.

Close’s primary record is the lead, which is a company with its contacts, opportunities, tasks and activities hanging off it. Most CRMs are shaped the same way, so this direction is mostly a matter of putting each child under the right parent, and the parentage is what the assessment checks hardest.

Needs setup or a plan change

Calls, emails and meetings need an Attio Pro workspace

View detailsHide details

Attio ships no record for an interaction, so your Close call, email and meeting history lands in an activities object we create, and Attio lets a workspace add an object of its own only from Pro upwards.

Verified against attio.com

On Pro they come across in full, in one object holding all three kinds, so your history costs your plan a single slot. Everything else lands on any plan.

Moves with changes

An Attio deal has six fields

View detailsHide details

Name, stage, owner, value, and the company and people it links to. That is the object, and Attio designed it that way. So a Close opportunity's close date, its note and its confidence have no attribute of their own to land in.

Verified against docs.attio.com

Each one is preserved on the deal exactly as Close had it, rather than pushed into a field that means something else, so Attio's deal object stays the shape Attio designed.

Attio keeps one list of deal stages, not pipelines

View detailsHide details

A Close organization runs named pipelines, each with its own statuses. An Attio deal has one stage attribute, a single status with one list of options. Two statuses that share a name merge onto one, and which pipeline it came from is not something Attio can hold afterwards.

Verified against docs.attio.com

Every opportunity keeps the stage it was in, won or lost or still open, so nothing needs re-marking by hand.

A contact's one name is split on the last space

View detailsHide details

Close keeps a single name on a contact where Attio CRM keeps a first and a last, so we split on the last space. That is right for Mary Anne Evans and wrong for Ludwig van der Berg. Close stores one string, so the information needed to do better is not in it.

The free assessment shows you the names it affects before you pay.

Stays in the source CRM

Your attachments stay in Close CRM

View detailsHide details

Close does keep files. What it does not document is whether the URL it serves the bytes from can be fetched with an API credential rather than a browser session, and we will not carry bytes we have no confirmed way to read. It is on your plan before you pay rather than a surprise after the run.

Your notes, your tasks and your activity history all come with you.

FAQ

Questions about moving Close CRM to Attio CRM

What happens to the company each record sat under?

It becomes companies, and everything that hung off it in Close arrives under it here. Close's primary record is the lead, which is a company, and contacts, opportunities, tasks and activities are all children of one. That parentage is the thing this migration is most careful about, because it is the shape your data was actually in.

What are my opportunities called afterwards?

After the company they sat on. A Close opportunity has no title of its own, it is identified by its lead and shown by that company's name, so there is no deal name in Close for us to carry. Each one arrives named for its company, with its value, its stage, its owner and its close date intact.

Do my pipelines survive?

Your statuses are matched onto the funnel your Attio already has, by what each one meant rather than by its name alone. Close records whether a status means won, lost or still open, so a deal you closed lands closed on the other side rather than needing anybody to re-mark it.

What happens to my call, email and meeting history?

It lands in one activities object we create in your Attio workspace, because Attio ships no record for an interaction at all. Keeping all three kinds in one object means your history costs your plan a single slot rather than three. That object is what needs a Pro workspace, and if you leave the three out this migration creates nothing in Attio at all.

Do I have to build a field map?

No. We work out what each value becomes, so nobody builds a field map. You review the plan before the migration runs. A Close custom field with no native home in Attio can be brought along as a new one instead of being left behind.

Who actually runs the migration?

We run the migration and stay reachable. Connect Close for the free assessment and price, then Attio to complete the plan. Nothing moves until you ask.

Can I keep working in Close while this happens?

Yes. We only read Close and never write back to it. Keep working while you check the results, then bring across the latest changes before switching over.

What if the result is not what I expected?

You can undo the migration, correct the issue and run again. Created fields, shared catalogue data and any other items listed as retained stay in place.

What does it cost?

One payment, based on the records that move. The free assessment of Close gives you the exact count and price before you commit. Payment is by invoice, with no subscription.
