## What lands in Close CRM

- Accounts → Leads (A Close lead represents the company.)
- Contacts → Contacts
- Deals → Opportunities
- Notes → Note activities
- Tasks → Tasks
- Attached files → Files attached to migrated records (Files need a parent record included in the migration.)
- Custom fields → Custom fields on the matching records (The plan identifies fields to create and any changes to their values.)
- Record owners → Matched to Close CRM users (You choose who inherits records with no matching owner.)
- Deal stages → Built in Close as pipelines and their statuses (We review which stages mean won, lost or open before the run.)

## What comes across

Keep the data that matters to you.

- **Keep records connected.** Keep deals linked to contacts and companies, and activities linked to their records in Close CRM.
- **Your custom fields come with you.** We find your custom fields in Freshsales CRM and plan how their values will travel to Close CRM before migrating their records.
- **Bring your activity history.** Your activity history arrives on the record it belongs to. This page names which types transfer and any limit on them.
- **Match owners, pipelines and stages.** We match them to your Close CRM users and stages.
- **Review changes before the run.** The plan flags values that change during migration. The original value comes across beside the converted one.
- **Keep data with no matching field.** Where possible, we create a field in Close CRM for data with no matching field.

## Check your Freshsales scope before switching to Close

We read accounts, contacts and deals from the saved views selected for the migration. We check those
views with you so the scope includes the records you intend to bring. Notes and files are read
with their parent records. Keep access to Freshsales for the calls, emails and other records
listed as outside this migration.

Accounts become Close leads. A [Close lead](https://developer.close.com/api/resources/leads) is the company that holds its contacts and opportunities. We review that parentage before the run.

Connect Freshsales using the API key and account address from
[Profile Settings, API Settings](https://developers.freshworks.com/crm/api/#authentication). Your source connection gives you the free record count and price.

## Limits and changes

- **Everything in Close hangs off a company** (degraded). Close's primary record is the lead, and a lead is a company. Its own reference says to think of one as both a lead and an account, and that contacts, tasks, opportunities and activities must be children of a lead. So your accounts become leads and everything else arrives underneath the company it belongs to. Instead: A record whose company did not come across has nowhere to be, which is why we bring the accounts first and name anything orphaned before the run rather than during it. Verified against https://developer.close.com/api/resources/leads
- **A deal in Close has no name of its own** (degraded). A Close opportunity is identified by the lead it sits on and shown by the company's name. There is no title field on it. So whatever you called each deal does not survive as a title, and the deal is known by its company and its pipeline instead. Instead: The value, the stage, the owner and the close date all come across. Verified against https://developer.close.com/api/resources/opportunities/list.md
- **Nobody owns a company in Close** (degraded). A Close lead carries no owner or assigned user, only who created and last updated it. Ownership here sits on the opportunities and the tasks. So your Freshsales record owners travel on your deals and tasks, and on the company itself there is no field for one to land in. Instead: Your record owners travel on your deals and tasks, and you say who takes the companies and the people in them. Verified against https://developer.close.com/api/resources/leads/list.md
- **A Close custom field has no true or false, and no currency** (degraded). Close's custom field types are text, number, date, datetime, a list of choices, a user, a contact, a custom object, a long text area and a hidden value. There is no checkbox among them and no money type. So a yes or no field arrives as the text of the answer, and an amount keeps its figure and loses what it was denominated in. Instead: We show you which of your fields this affects in the free assessment. Verified against https://developer.close.com/api/resources/custom-fields
- **An attachment cannot be taken back out** (degraded). Close has no way to delete a file. Its files reference documents one operation, generating a signed upload, and nothing that removes a file, so a file this migration attached stays attached even if you undo everything else. The undo tells you which ones it had to leave rather than passing over them quietly. Instead: Everything else we wrote comes back out. Verified against https://developer.close.com/resources/files/
- **Your appointments stay in Freshsales CRM** (unsupported). Close builds a meeting from a calendar event synced out of Google Calendar or Outlook. Its API lists no way to create a meeting activity, only to search, read, update and delete the ones that sync made. So an appointment has nowhere to be written. Instead: Your notes and tasks come across as activities on the lead. Verified against https://developer.close.com/resources/activities/meeting/
- **Calls and email conversations stay in Freshsales** (unsupported). Our Freshsales source does not read phone calls or email conversations. Instead: Your notes and tasks can still travel.
- **Custom modules, products and line items are outside this migration** (unsupported). Our Freshsales connector does not carry these records in either direction. Instead: Accounts, contacts, deals, notes and tasks are included in the supported scope.
- **Marketing consent is not migrated** (unsupported). We do not read or write subscription status through our Freshsales connector. Instead: Review consent separately before using the destination for marketing.
- **Closed-deal reporting needs a stage review** (degraded). Our Freshsales source carries stage names without declaring whether each stage means won, lost or open. Instead: We review how your stages should be treated before the migration runs.

## Stay in control

- **Undo the migration.** One action removes the records we wrote to Close CRM. Review what will remain before you undo and retry.
- **Paused runs resume.** A paused run resumes where it stopped, without losing progress or duplicating records.
- **Read-only in Freshsales CRM.** We only read Freshsales CRM. Nothing is written back to it.
- **Catch up before switching over.** Keep working in Freshsales CRM while you check the results. Then bring across the latest changes before switching over.

## What it costs

One payment, based on the records you move.

- **From $799.** Covers up to 20,000 records. Larger migrations use higher tiers. You pay once per migration, with no recurring charge.
- **Get your exact price for free.** Connect Freshsales CRM to see your record count and price before you commit.
- **A 30-day money-back guarantee.** Ask for a refund within 30 days of your migration being marked complete. We reverse the migrated data out of Close CRM and refund you.

## Questions about moving Freshsales CRM to Close CRM

### Will my Freshsales custom fields come across?

We discover your Freshsales custom fields and plan them for the matching Close CRM records. Review the plan for type changes and fields you prefer to leave behind.

### Do calls and emails come across?

No. Our connector leaves calls and email conversations in Freshsales. Review the supported activity types above before switching over.

### Will won and lost deals be labelled correctly?

We review stage choices with you. The Freshsales connector does not infer won or lost from a stage name, so this needs attention before you rely on destination reports.

### Who actually runs the migration?

We run the migration and stay reachable. Connect Freshsales for the free assessment and price, then Close to complete the plan. Nothing moves until you ask.

### Can I keep working in Freshsales while this happens?

Yes. We only read Freshsales and never write back to it. Keep working while you check the results, then bring across the latest changes before switching over.

### What if the result is not what I expected?

You can undo the migration, correct the issue and run again. Created fields, shared catalogue data and any other items listed as retained stay in place.

### What does it cost?

One payment, based on the records that move. The free assessment of Freshsales gives you the exact count and price before you commit. Payment is by invoice, with no subscription.
